Condo Remodel

Project description

Client: Dr. and Mrs. Anthony DeNisco

Scope: Full renovation services and furnishing for the entire condo.

Background: The DeNisco’s contacted us through referral after purchasing their condo. They wanted a full condo renovation and furnishings. To help us grasp their vision for palette, they shared a colorful hand towel and a small wooden plaque that had pretty shades of pale orange, yellow, blues, greens and white which spoke to the beautiful beachfront surroundings. They were looking for a more open floorplan, creating one large open social space and a warm, bright inviting interior.

We listened closely to their needs and goals both aesthetically and functionally — and then we made it happen in an organized, efficient and quality assured manner!

Our Work Included:

Throughout the Condo

  • Completing a full demo of the entire condo.
  • Storing personal belongings for the duration of the project.
  • Developing several options for finishes, fixtures (and more) for the DeNisco’s selection.
  • Installing large scale porcelain floor tile inside and on balconies.
  • Installing all new interior doors, baseboard and millwork, including crown molding.
  • Installing all new closet interiors.
  • Painting the entire condo.
  • Updating ductwork.

Social Area

  • Removing walls between living, dining and kitchen to allow for one large “social area”.
  • Reworking electrical due to removal of walls.
  • Dropping ceilings on 2” hat channel, to allow for recessed LED lighting.
  • Rebuilding soffits above kitchen cabinets, to allow for relocation of ductwork.
  • Creating a large island with different heights: one end at dining table height, the other end at kitchen counter height — and all within one continuous flow.
  • Incorporating a building column in the new island that could not be moved and dressing it with millwork and mirror to reflect the beautiful beach view.
  • Closing the door to the community hallway from the kitchen, to allow for a larger wrap around kitchen.
  • Installing all new kitchen cabinetry, engineered stone counters, backsplash tile, plumbing fixtures, undercabinet lighting and appliances. Interesting note: all the finishes in the kitchen were kept light to provide that open and bright feel.
  • Creating a large walk in pantry that offers access to the HVAC closet.

Bedrooms

  • Installing all new flooring, baseboards and doors.

Bathrooms

  • Installing all-new flooring, vanities, engineered stone countertops, plumbing fixtures, mirror and lighting. Interesting note: the showers had been renovated by a previous owner and worked with our new interior.

Furnishings & Window Treatments

  • Completely furnishing every room including artwork, rugs, accessories and bed dressing. Interesting note: We stayed true to the DeNisco’s color palette by utilizing the yellows in the sofas, the soft colors in the living rooms poofs, and slightly brighter tones in accents. We also used eclectic pieces, such as the living room coffee table that has a driftwood top to create a casual beachy vibe. The bedrooms followed suit with the palette in rugs and bed dressing and light furniture.
  • Installing hardwired motorized blinds which operate by remote at the living room windows. Interesting note: These shades have louvers that open and close to control the amount of light, and completely lift into a cornice at the top allowing for full views of the Gulf.
  • Installing floor to ceiling wood shutters at all the bedroom windows that slide side-to-side, to expose the view.
